I have Mozilla Thunderbird Email Client POP3 and I have been trying to back up and save all my Several Hundred Thousands of emails.

I googled this and it did mention a Soft Ware / (SOURCE FORGE.NET) as one possible solution?

Would you know if this and/or any other Programs (Paid or Free) can do this back up and save all my emails?

To do a manual backup which is quick. I use it because it only takes me 2 minutes max. You can access via Thunderbird.

  • Menu icon > Help > More Troubleshooting Information
  • Application Basics - half way - see 'Profile Folders' - click on 'Open Folder' - see image below as guide
  • It opens in a new window showing the contents of your 'profile name' folder.
  • Exit Thunderbird now.
  • Go up three levels to the 'Roaming' folder - see image as guide
  • Copy the 'Thunderbird' folder to an external drive.

This method backsup everything and that 'Thunderbird' folder is then easy to use if you ever need to do a complete reinstall or put on a different computer.

Other options available: If using version 91* or 102 then you could install the ImportExportTools NG addon which offers various options including the backup of profile. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/

I believe the version 102 now has an Export function under 'Tools' where you can select to export files for a backup.

Alternative option:

  • Exit Thunderbird
  • Use the windows search - type: %Appdata%
  • Select the %Appdata% file option
  • Make sure it is looking in the 'Roaming' folder
  • Copy the 'Thunderbird' folder and paste in a suitable location as backup.

See image below as guide.
