I think that you are using the en-GB Firefox locale and that version doesn't come with a dictionary. I'm not seeing a dictionary listed in the System Details, so I can't confirm that spell check should work. Installed dictionaries for spelling check appear under "Settings -> Dictionaries". Installed language packs for the user interface appear under "Settings -> Languages". ----- It is possible that you do not have a dictionary installed. You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages sub menu.
