unable to complete loading Thunderbird
I have used Thunderbird for a number of years. My computer crashed due to a nasty virus that took over. I am on a new computer trying to download a new copy. I get a message "Profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible" How do I work around this problem? Thanks

This happens when Thunder attempts to read the profiles.ini file and either it is missing or it is pointing to a folder that does not exist. Assuming you intended to start from scratch, you should erase the folder at c:\users\<yourID>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird and restart Thunderbird. I believe Thunderbird will recognize the folder is absent and will reconstruct it. If the problem persists, then just reinstall.
Thank you for the suggestion to try c:\users\<yourID>\appdata\roaming\thunderbird . I did a pc wide search and didn't get a file. Is there a way to work around this? I do have Thunderbird active on a laptop on the same network.
Okay, if the appdata\roaming\thunderbird doesn't exist, then reinstall Thunderbird and it should start.
