Problem opening Thunderbird due to Bitdefender

When I try to open Thunderbird, my antivirus Biddefender blocks the application, for following reason: "biddefender has detected an exploit of a thunderbird.exe vulnerability and has blocked the application"

I have been using Thunderbird for ages and never experienced any problems. Is Biddefender correct and is there a vulnerability with Thunderbird? Or should I add Thunderbird as a safe application in Biddefender?

Many thanks and kind regards, Anne

I suggest you disable the Advanced Threat Defense option in BD or add TB as an exception:

If you downloaded from the Thunderbird website, you should be safe. No one has indicated any virus problems here.

Thank you for the confirmation. I did not download a new version of Thunderbird. And I always downloaded it from the Mozilla site. So I will have to indicate the application as being safe in Thunderbird.
