Hi

I am looking for a suitable calendar client program running on Windows. It must be able to access a caldav server. I also want to able to add multiple reminders for any event similar to Google Calendar. For information on my Android devices I use aCalendar (with davcal) which is excellent.

I am now trying Thunderbird which is my Windows email client. I find that I cannot send emails as reminders, only alerts. Also when I enter a new event I want to automatically have multiple reminders, both notifications and emails.

To test reminders I added a Google Calendar. In Google Clendar I added an event with muliplte reminders. See GoogleCalendarReminders.jpg. When in Thunderbird I "Open" the event and saw ThunderbirdOpenEvent.jpg. This showed 4 reminders BUT did not say emails. I then in Thunderbird opened the event in "Edit" and saw ThunderbirdEditEvent.jpg. The reminder is shown as custom but only 1 reminder shown, the Alert/Notification. I repeated this with only email reminders on Google and no reminders are shown in Thunderbird.

How do I get email reminders in Thunderbird?

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

You may be able to get email reminders by adding yourself as an event attendee (as detailed here).

If you would like to further adjust your notification preferences, then the section "Calendar: New per-calendar and global notification settings" in New in Thunderbird 91 may be of help.

Thanks for the suggestions

I looked at adding myself as an attendee but I just got an email immediately not as reminders

The global and individual preferences only have the option of Alarms and not email.
