Recover old profile when all profile files are removed
I use Firefox daily, and I use Sync to save my profile.
Today I had to reinstall Windows for some reason, therefore I had to reinstall Firefox entirely. The profile files were lost in the process, and when I connected with Sync, Firefox installed all the extensions I had before, but it didn't fetch the bookmarks. Like many people, I have hundreds of links in my bookmarks, and I'd like to get them back. Profile files are not here, and Sync couldn't find them? Is there a place where I can see all previous Sync saves so that I can get an old backup (even if it's a backup from days or weeks ago)?

Sync only keeps one set of data and that is the last set uploaded from all devices connected to this account. Sync isn't designed to be used as a backup, but merely is meant to sync data between connected devices. Best is always to backup your personal data locally.
You can install the About Sync extension in Firefox 72 and newer on desktop to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.
Close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for possible about pages).
