Hi!

My system:

Acer VERITON MN: VM4630G-i7477X 32GB Ram 256GB SSD program drive 1-TB HDD data drive Win10Pro 64-bit with Taskbar configuration manager "7+TaskbarTweaker" FireFox v 114.0.1 (64-bit)

Problem:

I normally keep five (5) (or more!) FireFox windows open with over 43 tabs between them.

Each window can have from 4 to 20 tabs.

Whenever I shutdown, reboot & restart FireFox the order of the FF-windows shown in the Taskbar is never the same.

Prior to shutting down I have ordered the FF-windows the way I want them, but upon rebooting and restarting FF the FF-windows are never in the same order.

What to do?

Is there a setting I've missed?

Thanks for any advice!

Firefox takes its cue from how the site has coded its links. Usually they stay in the same tab, but they will open in a new window or tab if: the site specifies a "target" in the link. the site attaches a script to the link that opens a new window.

This problem has nothing to do with whether or not links in a webpage open in the same window, or, in a new window or tab.

My problem is about the fact that after rebooting my pc and restarting FF, the order of my FF windows --as they appeared in the taskbar prior to the reboot-- changes:

FF does not place my FF windows back in the taskbar in the same order
as I had them prior to restarting FF.

I normally have five (5) (or more!) FireFox windows open with over 40 tabs between them. Each window can have from 4 to 20 tabs.

Prior to shutting down I place the FF-windows in a specific left-to-right order in the taskbar: 1,2,3,4,5.

When I need to reboot, first I exit FF using Ctrl+Shift+Q.

After rebooting & restarting FireFox the order of the FF-windows shown in the Taskbar is never the same.

The windows could be 3,2,1,5,4, or 3,1,2,5,4 or any other sequence.

This is quite bothersome as I have to move each window into its proper place prior to working.

Please review the above and advise: after rebooting the pc and restarting FF how to have my FF windows appear in the same order, from left-to-right as 1,2,3,4,5 in the taskbar?

Thank you!
