I have FoxIt. If Firefox has security problems, work it out for FoxIt. There are no circumstances I will accept Abode "bloatware" in my laptop or my eeePC netbook.

My computer regularly crashes, because it has limited resources. Today, it had crashed overnight because of a power outage and extremely low battery. It had nothing whatsoever to do with "security problems due to not updating Adobe PDF Reader". I have FoxIt PDF Reader. If Mozilla thinks Firefox has security problems, fix it. Make Firefox work better with FoxIt. But don't tell me I need Adobe "bloatware" in my limited resources older laptop or my EeePC netbook. There are no circumstances I will accept Adobe products in a computer in my control.

== Today.

Did it say Adobe Reader? Hmmmm. Are u sure it did not say Adobe Flash since your version of Flash is old? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+the+Flash+plugin#Updating_Flash

I see in Add-ons > Plugins Shockwave Flash

I see Disable.

How do I remove it?

You'll need Flash if you want to watch YouTube videos, web games, etc. This is a separate issue from whatever PDF reader you have configured for Firefox.

You can use Mozilla's plugin check to make sure the Flash plugin is up to date. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/

If you're having issues with 3.6.4 and the Flash plugin, please take a look at Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again and increase the timeout as indicated.

I don't use my computer for games or for "entertainment".

I installed the flash blocker add-on and added better privacy add-ons, when I learned about the "super cookies" I deleted. I want it out altogether.

Is it a package with Firefox? If I delete it in Add Remove Programs, will Firefox work or will Firefox have "security problems"?

I posted above as Anonymous because I cannot Login. This site reports ConnieD is an invalid user name.

I don't have an answer: If I delete Adobe Flash in Add/Remove Programs in Vista, Firefox browser will still function minus Adobe Flash?

I rely on my computer for communication, not for "entertainment" or intrusive advertising.

I have moved my bookmarks off Firefox.

If I don't have an answer, I will delete Firefox to get rid of Adobe Flash and Adobe Flash security problem's "notices".

Firefox isn't different enough from other browsers to have to keep Adobe Flash. I think I only dislike "pop-ups" more than Adobe bloat, Adobe intrusiveness into privacy, and Adobe Flash bandwidth hogs and "refreshes".
