When browsing websites, I can access the internet without issues, up until it randomly stops working. It'll just continue to load with the thing spinning. If I set it to work offline, attempting to view the contents of the "File" menu does nothing (while Edit, View, etc continue to list their contents.) I can also move from tab to tab, and view pages that have already loaded. However, if I close firefox, it persists in the task manager. If I set it to work offline, it'll also use around 50% of the processor usage. In either case, ending the task does nothing, and the only way to reuse firefox is to restart.

At no time does internet explorer, nor any other program fail to load pages.

This happened

A few times a week

== Not sure, although it may have been when I installed Zone Alarm. I have since uninstalled ZA.

i have the same problem as you, but every time firefox stops loading a page, i just go to Processes in the task manager and end firefox. i can't think of any reason it's doing this or of a way to fix it.

Just had this issue pop up again, tried ending via taskmgr, didn't end.

I think it may be based around the plugincontainer.exe, as I think I'm often viewing flash items when it stops working.
