I have checked the option to warn me when a page attempts to redirect or reload, but some redirects are still happening without warning or approval. The redirects are solicitous in nature and hijack me away from a page that I was viewing without me clicking on anything. When it happens, reloading the original page sometimes results in another redirect but sometimes it doesn't. It seems pretty much random. I can only guess that the redirect is somehow imbedded in a banner or something - though I really no very little about how web pages work, so who knows. A few days ago I tried to reste the option by unchecing it and restarting firefox, and tehn rechecking and restarting firefox again. But today I got redirected. It's really a minor annoyance and it doesn't happen often, but I thought throw it out there. Thanx!

Sounds like Malware in your PC might be causing those "hijacks".
Install, update, and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in the "free mode" - but those are features you really don't need to find and remove the problem that you have. (Not all programs detect the same Malware.)
