My hotmail account was hacked and the windows live tech who is helping me said I needed to "optimize your internet browser" and I don't know what this means. Windows live only had instructions for Internet Explorer.

They probably mean this: "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Clearing_the_cache and http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies

Did you change your Hotmail (Windows Live) password? Make sure that you do not choose a password that can be found via a dictionary look up or otherwise easily found.
