Why doesn't my browser save history for more than 2 days?

In preferences under custom privacy settings, "Remember my browsing history for at least 90 days" is checked, so why is it only saving the history for 2 days?

Also, "Remember download history", "Remember search and form history", "Accept cookies from sites" and "Accept third-party cookies" are all checked. "Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session" and "Clear history when Firefox closes" are NOT checked.

You can look at these prefs on the about:config page.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days (180) (also affects saved form data)
http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.history_expire_days_min (90)

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

thanks for the reply. so i went to about:config, changed the settings, which were at 1 to 90 on both history items there and it didn't help. the history is still getting deleted after the second day. ??? also, any changes i save in preferences aren't being saved either.
