My cursor has started to disappear whenever firefox is open. I noticed this just today, where no matter what application I was in, if firefox was open the cursor would disappear after about a second when not being moved (very very quickly after it stops moving). This ONLY happens when firefox is open, and just started on Sept 24-2010.

I have looked through the windows settings and made sure that the "have mouse cursor disappear wen typing" is turned off, and I've reinstalled the most current driver for the mouse I'm using. This does not occur when using either Google chrome or Flock.

Has anyone else had an issue like this?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

  • Sigh* Another new release (9.0.1) and this frustrating idiocy is still with us. I wonder how many people have moved to Chrome mainly because of this very-long-standing bug.

I found a solution that works for me: Disabling the add-on: Flip4Mac Windows Media Plugin 2.3.5 Since doing so, my cursor has not disappeared anymore. Hope this helps
