When I try to print a PDF file from a website I receive the following error: The Adobe Acrobat/Reader you are running cannot open PDF files in a web browser. Please exit Adobe and your browser and try again. When I look in Tools, Options, Applications, Adobe the version of the reader is 5(default). This is a writer to create PDF files. I also have a reader version 9. How do I change the default?

For the settings to check see opening PDF files within Firefox. In the list of Applications, if Adobe Reader 9 is not listed, select the "Use other" option to find and select Adobe Reader.

You should also check to ensure there is not an old version of the PDF plugin in the Firefox plugins folder. Go to the plugins folder inside the Firefox installation directory, normal location will be C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins

If there is a file there named nppdf32.dll you can delete it.
