The latest firefox will not open my local library page. The library even has a note that the latest firefox is not allowing login. I also don't want the security warning and having to add an exception. Let ME handle security! Comcast sometimes turns on a DNS "tool" that interferes with my browser operating normally, but I do NOT expect Firefox to do this.

You can try:

  • "Clear the Cache": Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

I see this message on the page if I go to that link:

The newest Firefox browser (v.3.6.11) is not allowing people to log into My MARINet. For now, please use Safari, Internet Explorer or any older version of Firefox.

So apparently they have some incompatible JavaScript that isn't working in Firefox 3.6.11 and needs updating. You may see errors in the Tools > Error Console about that.
