'import' in file menu isn't highlighted. How do I import my favorites from IE8?

Everything under my file menu is highlighted and usable, except 'import'. I wanted to import my favorites from IE8. Cannot do it unless there is a way to get 'import' functioning.

If it is not working 1st try hotkey: Press 'Alt' then 'F' and 'I'(not at the same time).

If even it doesn't work then try updating the firefox. And then try.

  • Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
  • In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
  • You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed

You export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

  • Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
  • Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
