The scrolling vertical bar is now on the left
I had to download Firefox 3.6 to have access to the "new" Photobucket. I used version 3.0.19 and I was very happy with it. Now, it's gone forever and boy do I regret. The 3.6 version does this: The vertical scrollbar is now on the left (!!) It won't let me go on Facebook. It won't even let me use Google (!!!) I get a popup saying that it will leave some private informations (or something like that) I'm so sad I did the mistake of downloading that 3.6 version In fact, I removed Firefox from my PC and I'm beginning to use Google Chrome. What did I do that was wrong?

If you want to use Firefox 3.0.19, the English (US) Windows version is available from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0.19-real-real/win32/en-US/
Note that 3.0.19 is no longer supported. If you want to try to fix Firefox 3.6, check a hidden setting that is used to position the vertical scrollbar.
- Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the preference layout.scrollbar.side, it should be set to 0, if it is not right-click on the preference and choose Reset, or double-click on the preference to change the value.
For more details on that preference see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Layout.scrollbar.side
Hi Tony, thanks for your reply. I downloaded version 3.6 again and tried to type about:config in the URL bar It brought me to the warning mssage and I tried to click on "I'll be prudent" (or something like that) and...nothing happened. It seems it was trying to load and let it run for 15 minutes and nothing ever came up. I removed that 3.6 version again (sigh) and tried to download the 3.0.19 version via the link you posted. IT WORKED ALLELUIA! So, thanks a lot! And NO thanks to Mozilla 3.6 version: a disaster that took 4 hours of my precious time last night lol Best regards
You can try a custom install of the Firefox 3.6.12 version and install that version in a different folder ("C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox36\")
Make sure that you download the en-US version: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
- Create a separate profile for that version (don't start after the installation finishes)
- Create a desktop shortcut for each version
Then you can test that version without disrupting the Firefox 3.0.x installation.
That way you avoid problems with the profile folder of the Firefox 3.0 version in the Firefox 3.6 version
