My boot drive got corrupted and is no longer bootable, but the files are still accessible. I want to know what file(s) I need to transfer to my new boot drive in order to recover my bookmarks. Also what folder(s) to use of course.

You need the file places.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder

See:

  • XP: x:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
  • Vista/Windows 7: x:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

"Application Data" in XP/Win2K and "AppData" in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders
