Firefox is causing my computer to lockup. I don't have that trouble with Chrome. It started when I downloaded the add-on TACO. I've even uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it, but the problem persists.

Originally, the problem was that Firefox would crash a few times every day. The problem got worse; causing the entire computer to lockup. The only way I could restore functionality to the computer would be to power it off and then restart it.

See:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I've tried running Firefox in Safe Mode, but it still causes my computer to lock up.
