Real Player causes Firefox to freeze when Tools\ClearRecentHistory is attempted

I downloaded and installed Real Player.

I then logged into Yahoo.com email, looked at mail, signed off, went to my home page (about:blank), and attempted "Tools\ClearRecentHistory."

The computer hung-up, and nothing worked. I could use Task Manager to end Firefox.

I tried removing Real Player and everything worked. I reinstalled Real Player and the same thing happened. Finally, I removed Real Player again.

I like the Tools\ClearRecentHistory function, and I do not want to upgrade Firefox because I understand this function is gone in the new version.

This may be a problem with the "RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin" extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).

Be sure not to get confused with the RealPlayer plugin (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) that plays media files.
The extension adds some extra features like saving media files.

You can disable/remove the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension in the RealPlayer Preferences (RealPlayer: Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording)
