When I close Firefox (with the X in the upper right corner) the Firefox.exe process stays in task manager for a long time (several minutes) while the memory usage counts down. Anyone understand this? I do keep Firefox open for days at a time.

Firefox has always leaked memory though it is better (3.6.x) than it used to be. Another thing to consider is the number of bookmarks you have (FF loads them into memory) and if the list is large and you have made numerous changes it writes this back to disk at close. Likewise the session history gets written back to disk at close as FF tidies up after itself. Some addons can add to load and shutdown times as well.

Same problem here with FF 3.6.15. Than I've installed v4 RC2, problem solved.
