After installing Firefox 4, I deleted the 3 icons: History, Getting Started and Headlines hoping to shrink the bar, sadly it didn't work. How do I get them back? Re-installing Firefox 4 didn't work.

Thanks, that gets me so far. Following entering about:config, I get the usual page of links to various sites including links to browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion but clicking on these links just opens a website which doesn't help because no website gives any opportunity to double click on anything and change its value. How do I get browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion in a form where I can change its value?
