Can't install any add-ons after upgrading to Firefox 4.. tried about:config, still nothing. How come?
No matter which add-on I try to install, it says, "Software Installation is currently disabled. Click enable and try again." .. I've tried clicking enable as well as going to about:config and toggling xpi.enabled.. still nothing. Please help.

We had a problem with addons.mozilla.org not being in our mirror network. This should be sorted out in the next 30 min.
Understood, thanks!
Um. It's still not working!
Try the steps at Unable to install add-ons (extensions or themes)
Ok. Fixed it.
Had to create a new profile.
If anyone has (had) the same problem, and you have a lot of bookmarks you don't wanna lose, make sure you back them up on your old profile as a saved file--on your desktop, create a new profile, and then import them in your new profile.

can someone please tell me how can i fix this.... i installed three addons (all compatible with firefox 4) so they appear in the addon manager extensions tab but....none of them works..i mean i don't see any icon or something from them...
You can try this: Install an old version of firefox 3.6 and install the needed extensions then update to firefox 4.
