You know, the button that listed all of the pages you were recently so if you wanted to go back a whole bunch you only had to choose that page and go straight there as opposed to clicking "back" over and over and over again. I really miss that button. Really, really miss that button.

I really dislike the new Firefox 4 - this was my main gripe too. I'm afraid I don't understand the one answer you've been given, but my solution was to go back to the old Firefox (3.6.16) and I'm happy again now. I like to have everything I need visible on the screen and not to have to click 2-3 buttons to find what I want, and in this respect the new Firefox 4 doesn't meet my needs.
