I had this issue and it is a problem with the plugin installer rather than FF4. To get around it, copy the "plugins" directory from a previous install or create a new directory and copy the plugin dll manually. That solved it for me. (This was on Win7 BTW)

Tried this but does not help.Using Win Xp home edition. The dll was in the plugin folder
