After updating to Firefox 4, in addition to loading my window with all my saved tabs from the last session, it also loads additional multiple windows with a single blank tab.

How do I make it stop doing this?

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

That fixed the problem for me as well. Thanks!

This worked, but had to do it twice (deleted the two sessionstore files twice)

This worked the first time I tried it but now I'm having the same problem again and deleting those 2 files is no longer fixing the problem.

Any suggestions?
