Yes, you can still download 3.6 and earlier.

It's also possible to run two versions of Firefox concurrently, but the setup is a little bit complicated. If you want to try it, see this thread: can I install versions 3 and 4 on my PC at the same time? | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help.

Here's the process to roll back from 4 to 3.6:

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information (copy whole profile folder).

Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older

Close Firefox 4, and uninstall it. Do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.

Then finally you can reinstall Firefox 3.6. Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, it should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

I'm not sure of the best translation; Google translate says "tabs".

Some intranet sites are built using older Microsoft technologies (ActiveX controls, proprietary scripting techniques) that do not work in any version of Firefox. Also, Firefox requires forward slashes (/) in paths while Internet Explorer will accept either forward (/) or backward (\).

However, if the page worked in Firefox 3.6 but does not work in Firefox 4, it probably is worth digging into the problem a little deeper. Do you know whether other Firefox users have the same problem?

Hi,

Thanks for answering! there were some problems before the update aswell, from some tabs that has more then one option I could see some but not all options if that makes any sense? and there was problems showing pictures in some programs. Also my email (outlook) looked different and laked some options that show when using IE. And after the update, I cant access my email at all cause when I click the tab nothing shows, but still some other tabs work? I asked my IT support about this but their answer is just that the intranet is design for IE. Only I like FF alot better it´s faster and with IE I have a problem with having to log in to all password, pages all the time even after just a minute of inactivity a problem they can´t seem to get around. And yes everyone using FF like we do in our work has the same problem... I would be soo gratful for a soulution since I´d hate to have to use IE again!

If your intranet is highly customized, it might not be possible for people outside your company to help. If your intranet is based on a common package, you might find some useful solutions in a web search. For example, someone may have created a Greasemonkey userscript to fix things on the pages.

Regarding email, if you are using Outlook Web Access from Exchange 2000-2003, that version is very weak in Firefox. However, the newer versions in Exchange 2007-2010 are much better.

It is a little inconvenient using two browsers for different sites, but at least you have the option. Some companies don't like non-Microsoft browsers at all.

If there are public web sites that have problems, we could help more with those.

Hi, and thanks again for your time. We use the windows XP and probably an older version of everthing so maybe the systems just aren´t working together. I don´t really get any support from my IT-support cause as you said they don´t want us to use FF :( So I´m thinking the best would be to get the old version back since it works for most of my needs. But now I can´t seem to find a link to reset the update or download the 3.6. Do you know how I can do that?

Hi again, I used your link to install the 3.6 after uninstalling the 4.0 chosing not to unistall my personal settings. Worked great! Now I only hope firefox will find a way to have full combabillity with all programs sometime in the future since it´s the best browser out there :)

Thank you very much for your help!
