I had 2 user scripts that all of a sudden stopped functioning, so I uninstalled them and tried to reinstall. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox. Two problems occurred. First, I no longer have the Firefox button on the top left of the page. Instead, it has been replaced by the old FF icon. Secondly, I tried to reinstall 2 user scripts. When I click on install, it brings me to a Java Script page instead. Previously, I never had any problems installing user scripts. What is causing this and how can I correct it?

You can have either the orange Firefox button (and tap the Alt key to call up the classic menu bar) or display the classic menu bar all the time. You can go back and forth using View > Toolbars > Menu Bar.

Do you have the "monkey" button on your toolbar? If the icon is faded, then Greasemonkey is disabled. You need to click it to re-enable it before it can install a new userscript. (If you don't have the button, check here: Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Does it work again?

OMG!! I never even noticed the monkey icon was faded. However, I was certain I checked that extension in tools to make sure it was enabled because I wanted to be sure I was using the most recent version of Greasemonkey. Thank you very much. I will try to install those user scripts again and see what happens. As for the FF button, thanks for that info too. I wanted to make sure nothing was messed up it. I'll let you know how I make out with the user scripts. Thanks, again, for all the help.

Reinstalled the user scripts with no problem. I must have accidentally clicked on that monkey icon by mistake. Thank you very much for your help and quick response
