99% of the time a website will not open and I get the message "can't find the server" even happens with Mozilla when I click on help. If I use the refresh button usually the web page will eventually load sometimes it takes multiple clicks on the refresh button. Many times only parts of the page load and I still have to use the refresh button to get the whole page loaded.

Out of date plugins can also play a role, so update the following:

  1. Flash via http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
  2. Adobe Shockwave For Director via http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
  3. Java via http://www.java.com/en/

If the problem persists, try running Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
