login and password dialog box when accessing Linksys router problem

more options

All Linksys Cisco routers and repeaters in the WRT/WRE range require that the login field be blank, and that you only use the password field. With Firefox version 4.0.1 this is no longer possible because Firefox's login dialog INSISTS that you enter a login id - even though there isn't one on the router! This is extremely annoying, so now, whenever I need to access the web GUI for my Linksys routers or repeaters, I must use a different browser that doesn't try to tell me that it knows better then I do what it is that I am trying to do.

Please fix this as soon as possible, because this is a deal breaker for me with regard to continued future use of Firefox as my main browser.

In earlier threads about Linksys routers, you would resolve this problem by disabling this feature:

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Security tab

Uncheck "Tell web sites I do not want to be tracked"
