I HAVE asked thus question before but it`s not on your forum. Some gmail pages are partially unencrypted, one of them is the login page. Gmail have said it`s a problem with Firefox. I also have a problem with boots.com checkout page, that is also partially encrytped. I asked them about it but they have said that it is encrypted.

Your question is here:

The login page from https://www.boots.com has images coming via an insecure http link.
You can see that in Tools > Page Info > Media

I have queried this with boots.com who have checked their system & have stated that there isn`t a problem,

You haven`t answered my my query about gmail. I used IE to access gmail yesterday & had no problem, the same happened with boots.com

I followed your links but they gave me no information. The pages were empty.

Why wasn`t I sent an e-mail to inform me that I had a reply?

Firefox shows the "partially encrypted" message if there is data coming via an insecure http link and that is what I see on the boots.com website.
I don't know why you see it on the Gmail site as well, but likely is that it is the same thing there.

For Gmail you can try to clear or bypass the cache and clear the Google/Gmail cookies.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.

  • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
  • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
