I don't have a toolbar at the top; so I can't follow directions to use folders to organize bookmarks.
I tried to use the help utility to organize my bookmarks. It referred to selections in the main toolbar which I don't seem to have. It also showed a picture of the bookmarks sidebar; I have the sidebar but don't have the item: "Bookmarks Menu". I am stumped as to why this got downloaded in a form that I can't figure it out. I don't like MS explorer but at least I can organize my bookmarks, there.

When the Menu Bar is hidden, you can access Bookmarks thru the orange Firefox button.
{Ctrl + B} opens the Boomarks Sidebar. There are 3 main folders that should appear there when all the folder are closed.
- Bookmarks Toolbar
- Bookmarks Menu
- Unsorted Bookmarks
You can temporarily show your toolbars with the "Alt" key just like in Internet Explorer.
See item #7 "Organize Bookmarks" under the Bookmarks menu has been changed to "Show All Bookmarks -- Ctrl+Shift+B" with the same keyboard shortcut. ...
You can make Firefox 4.0.1 and Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic *Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)
To import your Internet Explorer Bookmarks into Firefox use File > Import to import your IE bookmarks. Then you would have to move the bookmarks toolbar from there to your Firefox bookmarks toolbar.
Thanks; I now can get the main toolbar with alt, and can get the bookmarks toolbar/sidebar several ways. So how do I create and use folders for bookmarks? I see no "button" that creates folders. Organizing them would be nice. How do I create a bookmark folder???
The "Bookmarks Toolbar" is just a bookmarks folder you can work with it as a toolbar, in the Sidebar ("Ctrl+B"), or in the (Bookmarks) Library List (Ctrl+Shift+B").
To create a folder right-click on a bookmark or bookmark separator and choose "New Folder" the folder will be created in-front of the bookmark. Rename the folder. If you have to right-click on a folder the new folder will probably be created within the old folder and you will have to drag the new folder where you want it.
