How do I close the browser with CTRL W?

I like to use CTRL W to close tabs I also like to use it to close the actual browser as well

On the laptop I'm using right now, when I have only one tab left, it ONLY closes the tab - but keeps the browser open

On other machines I have, I can close using CTRL W when on the last tab

I've been through the options, but can't see anything I can set

Where am I going wrong? Is there a setting somewhere I am missing

The keyboard shortcut works with Chrome and IE (not that I use IE!)

Thanks

Omar

Do you see the tab bar on that laptop with only one tab open?

You can check if the pref browser.tabs.closeWindowWithLastTab is set to true on the about:config page.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
  • Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
  • Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
