How do I get gmail to ask for my password rather than going straight into gmail when I click on it?

Previously, when I logged into my gmail account I had to enter my password before I could access my e-mail. Now when I click on gmail it goes straight into my e-mails without asking for my password. I want it to revert to asking for my password before going into my gmail page.

  • click Firefox button and click Options -> Security panel -> Remove Checkmark from Remember Passwords for sites -> click OK

OR

  • click Firefox button and click Options -> Security panel -> click Saved Passwords button -> select the http://login.gmail.com (or something relevant to gmail.com ) entry -> click Remove button -> click Close -> click OK

-> Restart Firefox

Check and tell if its working.

You can use form fill in Firefox or a form fill extension if you only want to save the user name.

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" > "Remember search and form history"
