I have downloaded Firefox 7 and started the Wizard but am continualy told that I have an older version that needs to be removed and have to reboot? How can I get around this?

My OS is Windows 7. I want to change from IE to Firefox. After selecting the standard installation I am told that I must reboot to remove an older version of Firefox. This is as far as I have been able to get. I have downloaded 3 times now and rebooted 4. Any ideas?

Hi Swarnava,

I followed your two links to try to solve this problem but still ended up with a re-boot request to remove an earlier version which I don't have. I have not downloaded Firefox and set it up yet so I have nothing to remove! I have checked my programs via Control Panel too, nothing. Stuck!
