My OS is too old for Firefox 3.6.24. How do I get 3.6 back?

I'm on Macs. My desktop is OS X 10.4.11. My lap top is OS X 10.5.8. Firefox automatically updated both computers, but then said Firefox 3.6.24 is not supported by either of these systems. Now my computers are running poorly while on line. How do I get 3.6 back and avoid automatic updates? Being on Mac, security is less of an issue.

Firefox 3.6.24 should run fine on a PowerPC Mac with OS X 10.5

Only Firefox version 4 and later like the current 8.0 release require an Intel Mac and Os X 10.5.
