why can't I hit goback button and go back more than one page

Upgraded from 6.3 to firefox 8. When I use the back button I can't go back more than one page. I use to be able to go back as many pages as I wanted. Use win xp sp3 fully updated,1 gb memory pentium 4.

Thanks for your reply to my question. I use Noia for my theme and like the way the back and forward buttons are arranged. I found the solution for my problem in about:config>browser.sessionhistory.max_entries was set to 2. I changed it to 50 and problem solved. Thanks for your help.

Click-hold the unified Back / Forward button, or right-click it to get the Back / Forward history for that tab.

Or install this extension to get the old "drop-marker" button restored.
