Firefox is a web browser, not a FTP client. IE is basically a suite, a browser and filemanager and such.

There is the FireFTP extension or you can just use a proper FTP client like the popular open-source FileZilla (not related to Mozilla).

There was a basic extension years ago that did put in the basic ftp upload feature that the Mozilla suite had before.
