I cannot find my old bookmarks after moving my original c: drive to e: drive and installing a new c: drive. Please advise.
My old c: drive was becoming slow. I moved this drive as my backup e: drive (didn't delete any files) and installed a new c: drive. I can view and move all my files from this e: drive to the new c: drive. However, I have not been able to import my Firefox bookmarks. I have looked all over the hard drive and cannot locate them. Any suggestions?

Hi,
The path to look for would E:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\***.default', assuming that it hasn't been deleted and the old installation of Firefox was a normal installation. The bookmarks + history are stored in the places.sqlite file. The auto bookmarks backups are in the bookmarks folder. Please also see Firefox Profile Folder & Files. The link also has information regarding other files which you may want to copy.

Getting closer! Now how can I import these bookmarks, as well as the bookmarks toolbar into my current Firefox 8? So far, much obliged!
Copy the most recent bookmarks Backup into a location you will remember (Desktop for example). Then, open Firefox, Click the Firefox Button, then click Bookmarks. In the upper right hand side, click Import and Backup, hover over Restore, then select "from File". Now just find the backup file you copied, import it in, and you should be good to go.
Exit Firefox. To get back both bookmarks and history, you would copy and overwrite the places.sqlite file into the same folder structure in the new drive ie. into C:\Users\???\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\***.default. To restore only the bookmarks, delete everything in the bookmarkbackups folder in the new profile and copy the newest bookmarks-xxxx-xx-xx.json file from the old bookmarkbackups folder. This you can restore from Bookmarks (Alt + B) > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore. Please also see this.
