Don't open prefs.js.
Just rename or delete the file or move it to another location.
If there are other prefs-##.js files with a number and a user.js file then move those as well.

None of those articles helped. When I open the pref.js file I cant delete it like it says.It puts it in a tray in the bottom and wont let me delete it while it is in that tray. When i open that file there is a red x associated with it.I think this file is the problem but nothing I try seems to work.Any help would be appriciated

When I open the prefs file to rename it ,it wont let me because it is open in the tray on the bottom .It tells me to close it and try again.Everytime I open it ,it also puts it in the tray on the bottom and I cant do anything with it.
