I have Firefox 9.0.1 and two sets of bookmarks, that is, the column of bookmarks in folders is followed by a duplicate set, but not an exact duplicate, what should I do?

I've made folders for my bookmarks, and when I click on "Bookmarks" in the toolbar, a column of folders scrolls down (with misc unsorted bookmarks). THEN a duplicate set of folders scrolls down, but the bookmarks contained therein are not exactly the same, I think it's an older set. And when I store a new bookmark, using "choose" and then selecting a folder, I have a choice of folders in BOTH sets, so I'm never quite sure where I've put a bookmark or where to look for them. Why two sets? What to do? I did try deleting a folder in one set, but found that this deleted it from BOTH sets!

Try to remove duplicates with this extension if you are not sure which set to keep.
