I'm on firefox 11 (aurora) now. Ever since about FF 7, image tooltips, such as those on xkcd comics, do not show when I hover over them. This is even though the websites use html standards correctly ("title" attribute used for tooltips).

This can be caused by Google Toolbar or Direct2D.

Hi,

Is it https://xkcd.com/ It seems to be working in both Firefox 9.0.1 and Aurora 11.0a2. Please check if this happens in Safe Mode.

Hi all,

Tooltips work in safe mode. I then disabled Direct2D (don't have Google Toolbar) and now they also work in normal mode. Thank you so much!

I do hope that disabling Direct2D does not have any negative effects on other features or performance...

I think there wouldn't be any negative consequences, but the positive features may be slightly missed, especially in Windows 7. I'm sure there's a better explanation than this. Please also see the overview section here.
