I've recently updated Firefox and was streaming video from Netflix. Suddenly, blue verticle/jagged lines appeared on the entire screen and then the screen went black with the audio still playing. When I restart the computer it says that the operating system unexpectedly quit. Let's play the blame game. Who's fault? Firefox? Mac? Netflix? Mine? Virus?

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You may have to check that in the plugin as well.
