I've this column on the left side on all tabs or pages which can be resized horizontally. It shows one search box and view drop down menu with options like: by date and site, by sit, by date , by most visited and so on . I can't get rid of it and I don't use it . so please how to remove it?

It will be a History or Bookmarks sidebar I imagine. Keyboard shortcuts on Windows or Linux

  • Bookmarks Ctrl + B
  • History Ctrl + H

will toggle the sidebars open and closed. There is also a clickable [X] button to close the sidebar. (And options from the dropdown menu if you use the Menu Toolbar)

Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.
