Firefox 12.0 should work on Win2000 just fine. It is Firefox 13.0 that Win2000 will not be able to support.

Chrome does not work on Windows 2000, it requires at least Windows XP SP2.

If you have Windows 2000 and Firefox 12, you won't receive anymore updates. Windows 2000 hasn't been supported for almost 2 years so you should update Windows if possible.
