Hello

I have read the following info on Firefox Sync but they did not provide me with the info I am searching : :http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/what-firefox-sync#w_thats-enough-explanation-ae-just-show-me-how-to-use-this-thing

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync

https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/add-a-device-to-firefox-sync

I use Firefox Sync on my Home PC and my Laptop and I have everything synced (addon, bookmarks, passwords, preferences, tabs, history).

I have just setup Sync for the Portable Firefox I am planning to use on an USB drive. It's fine to have my settings and bookmarks synced automatically, however I don't want to have my passwords synced for that Firefox in case I lose my USB drive.

I can't seem to not have PortableFirefox not sync my password without disabling the syncing for my other Firefox. Whenever I deselect Passwords in the Sync options on PortableFirefox, that option is also deselected in my other 2 Firefox and passwords are no longer synced also.

Is there a way to do that : to select what item (in my case Passwords) I want to sync or not for each of my Firefox?

Thanks in advance for any help. Best regards

Hi hig90,

I have two recommendations regarding use of portable FF (both might be slightly offtopic so sorry in advance):

  • Protect your drive

Have you thought about using some sort of encryption? Lets say http://www.truecrypt.org/ ?

  • Move your profile to a online storage

You have many alternatives here (Dropbox, Google...). You can run your portable Firefox with "-p" parameter and just easily link your profiles to it.Than your privacy would however depend on the third party provider...

Regards,

jm
