I use a group of 4 or more windows and minimize them so I can view all of them at once. (music study stuff) is there a way to save them (not tabs) as a group?

I have the windows lined up on my monitor. EACH ONE IS A SEPARATE WINDOW. each window has one tab. So this is not a group of tabs, but A GROUP OF WINDOWS RUNNING CONCURRENTLY.

How can I save them to recall later?

I don't think there is a built-in feature for this. You can create a folder on the Bookmarks Menu and save bookmarks for the four pages in that folder. At the bottom of the folder on the menu will be an option to "Open All in Tabs" -- in one window. I can't think of a similar one-click way to re-open them in separate windows. Maybe there's an add-on for that??

Easiest would be to save a backup copy of the sessionstore.js file that stores the currently open tabs and windows and recently closed tabs and windows.

You need to use this startup setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: When Firefox Starts: Show my windows and tabs from last time
