When loading a FF clip w/sound of any sort, if there's no b/g music- all is acceptable *except a much lower volume level* than older versions had. BUT if there's b/g music playing- *IT* (b/g music) WILL TOTALLY DROWN OUT ANY VOICE CONVOs!!

Hi,

You can try to adjust the volume in the individual media controls on the webpages. You can also try setting a minimum volume level individually for Firefox, Flash, Silverlight etc. in the Windows OS sound Mixer panel: click the icon on the Windows taskbar tray > Mixer.

If problems persist, you can reset Firefox and start afresh.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Somehow I worded it as if I'm a complete computer 'Novice' which is a million percent wrong, as I've been building computers since early 1970's. It's just I had 0 problem with the original version of FF running on my Win7 & Firefox machine. This newer version has a much lower volume level & b/g music destroys chances of hearing the voice!!

BUT the second this replacement version was *first* forced on users, my sound inequalities all started. Bear in mind that -each clip can be much different- than others previously played. BUT it's odd that the volume currently set for FF-- will BLAST ME OUT if I use MSIE!

There's some code that is NOT RIGHT *SOMEPLACE* and I've seen many many -identical- complaints but *I* finally decided to say something!. IF a clip contains no b/g music-- chances of hearing the vocal are much better. As far as 'adjustments to volume levels' I've tried all I know within Firefox to no Avail. It's odd that I heard 0 sound complaints -anywhere- with the older original version of FF!!
