Yahoo is my home page and News, Sports, Business links now shows a few sentences after each main URL link. How do I put it back to show just the URL links?

Yahoo is my home page and News, Sports, Business categories/links changed and now shows a few sentences after each main URL link/topic. How do I put it back to show just the URL links/topics without having to scroll down and down the page. All the extra sentences after the links causes too much scrolling to view the topics.

OR

Those steps did not solve my problem. Here is an example of what I see although it's not exact copy/paste. All I want to see are the links but I get all the verbiage after the links

Attaching screen shot of Firefox. Notice the first URL link of "Fiscal Cliff........" and all the extra words after it. Then the next URL has more sentences after it. All I want to see are the main URL topics.

Internet explore is also included in a screen shot and it does not have all the extra verbiage after each link.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Resetting Firefox did not fix the problem. Maybe this is just part of something new Firefox did, if so I'll need to find another browser. What do you think?

Clear cookies and temp files.

n4ome, it appears as though you are logged in with your Yahoo! account under Firefox and not logged in under IE. Try logging out of your Yahoo! account and then reloading the home page in Firefox. If that fixes the problem, then the issue is with the way your Yahoo! account is configured, and not with the browser you're using.

FYI, I viewed the Yahoo! home page in Firefox both while logged in and not logged in to my Yahoo! account, and it displayed news stories without the article summaries both times. So, there is a way to turn this feature off even while you're logged in. Unfortunately, I was not able to find information about it in Yahoo!'s help pages. However, that is where you'll have to go if the problem is indeed with the way your account is configured.

Good thought but I logged out of my Yahoo account using Firefox, reloaded the page and it didn't fix the issue. I logged in IE using my Yahoo account and the summary items did not show so I'm still not sure what I did (or Firefox) that is causing this issue. I've been browsing my settings and not sure what can fix this.

Looks like clearing the cookies again fixed the issue. I know I did that right after seeing the URL change but just glad it's working again.

Thank to all who helped out.

I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue, even if it's not apparent what was wrong in the first place.
