Firefox looses tabs when I close even though set to show windows and tabs from last time - only way I can get function to resume is to reinstall Firefox.

This has been an ongoing problem for a year but is happening more frequently - about every 2 days Firefox loses the ability to remember the tabs from last time even though set to do so. The only was I can get it to start functioning again is to reinstall Firefox. Upon reinstallation it works fine - for about 2 days, then once again loses the ability to reopen with last session's tabs....

In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":

  • do not clear Browsing History

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
